*The Launay Project mineral claims are currently in the process of being acquired pursuant to an asset purchase agreement with Agnico Eagle dated March 4, 2026, under which Vior Gold Corporation will acquire a 100% interest in the project. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.
The Launay Project is located near the community of Taschereau, approximately 43 kilometres west‑northwest of the city of Amos, and consists of 226 mineral claims covering 12,602 hectares. The property lies within the Abitibi Greenstone Belt. Vior Gold Corporation recently acquired the project in March 2026 from Agnico Eagle, together with other properties that now form part of its portfolio.
Geology and Mineralization
The property is located in the Northern Volcanic Zone of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt and covers the Launay Pluton, the Guyenne and Taschereau batholiths, as well as volcanic rocks of the Figuery and Amos groups. The Launay Pluton is a quartz‑phenocryst intrusion that cuts the Taschereau Batholith. It hosts gold mineralization expressed in several styles that appear to coexist. The primary geological setting is interpreted as a porphyry‑style system, with emplacement partly controlled by structural features, and locally enriched in Ag, Mo, Bi, and Te. Two dominant mineralization morphologies are observed within the metasomatized zones: 1) mineralized quartz‑carbonate veins, commonly associated with shear zones, faults, and breccia zones; and 2) disseminated mineralization hosted within felsic intrusive rocks that are strongly altered by carbonate, hematite, and albite.
Exploration History
Most of the historical work (including prospecting, trenching, drilling, and geophysical surveys) was carried out during the 1980s and 1990s. This work led to the discovery of several gold showings associated with the Launay intrusion, the most significant of which is Zone 75, discovered in 1987 and located along the southeastern margin of the intrusion. This area hosts the best drilling intersections reported to date, including 4.18 g/t Au over 27.8 metres, 6.92 g/t Au over 12.8 metres, and 4.04 g/t Au over 15.5 metres, including 5.10 g/t Au over 11.5 metres (GM68983). Another showing, the Main Zone, located more than 800 metres north of Zone 75, returned 5.10 g/t Au over 9.42 metres in drilling (GM45769). Vior Gold Corporation will complete a compilation of the area prior to initiating the next exploration program.
